Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary, Chennai, Tamilnadu

The earlier blogpost here showed the brown Pelican in Flight. Vedanthangal is 80 kms from Chennai on NH 45-B. You turn right after chengleput bypass (5 kms or so after Chengleput or was it 23 kms? just ask ok?) at Paliyanur village. Melamaiyur, Karunguzhi. It is 13 kms from NH and ... kms from the Chengleput Toll gate.  Tickets 5 /- for adult and 25/-  for camera. Parking of car addl 15/-.

There is no signboard. Ask your way. Or if you are going by BUS, then take a bus to Chengeleput and then from there to Vedanthangal. Bird Sanctuaries, as you know are best visited between December to March in Tamilnadu because that is when it rains here and is winter elsewhere in the Northern Hemisphere of the Globe from where these birds may be coming.

The slide will show cormorants, Indian Herons or Grey Herons.

Flight of the Pelican

Up, up and up I go,

Away from this world so low;
