Cochin Kochi Ernakulam

As like in my earlier posts I would like to host some basic information in form of text and PDF files here in my downloads section, but I am not getting time. I will post them later when I get time to first locate my papers! These are from my pending collections that I had promised to upload long ago after my travels.

Kerala is a fascinating place and I have been to that place quite a few times during my stay in South and have lots of memories associated with each place I have visited... ....

For details about Kochi or Cochin which is also sometimes confused with Ernakulam pls see this link below.. it seems to be a good one. Ernakulam is the Station Name and the District name. Aiport is named Kochi. The main area is called Ernakulam and the old city or the area after you cross the sea is Kochi. People, People Everywhere not a land to stand!
1 Billion Plus!! Can you Imagine?
Crazy People! Will just go on Reproducing!!
Oh God! So many of us in India!! No wonder we want to run away to States or Europe! (and of course increase their population!!! Sanjay Gandhi was doing right.... Sterilising people by force.. I forget the medical term for that! But then he died in a plane accident and of course lose votes for Congress those years by his act.

But like everything has a plus side... this huge population is what helped India NOT see Recession in 2009! Why? Because of the number of people buying never stopped!! That is why!
And this is what is now becoming our strength! Why? Because all West is coming here to sell their products-- because it is here where the buying is happening!!
Ohh Economics!! Let me come back to my theme here.. and that is Juhu Beach - one of the most happenning place for Middle Class Mumbai..- the City which (almost) never sleeps (the suburban train stops only for two hours from 2 am to 4 am) and on this beach of Chowpatty (meeting corner) as Juhu Beach Chowpatty is known life goes on till 2 am late in the night..!

The pictures were just taken in evening before nightfall and you can see the crowd!! From young to old!! Eating, sitting, playing, watching, whatever!!! And this same place in the night you have other activities too... in some corners... if you know what I mean...

Point Calimere- Turtle

We saw a sea Turtle during our boat ride on the Palk Strait- the strip of Bay of Bengal between Sri Lanka (Jaffna) and India (Tamilnadu) caught in a fishing net! Just THINK!! How we are killing these poor guys!! Poor Chaps!! See its face! How cute and how helpless!! Lucky for him that we were there... Otherwise the locals would have eaten it!! The boatman wanted to take it.. but we said NOOOOOOOOOOO  and he took our boat around to the point and cut the nets to release the guy! Hope he never gets caught again!! Cheers!! We are actually killing our planet!!

For Now the Name I got for this one is

Green turtle -- scientific name Chelonia mydas

Once the guy is checked from close up I will correct this name if required.
