A tribute to My Father

This is my dad, who died in a road accident last year. Ohh!! How I hate those people who drive rashly!! Fast Driving Cannot mean irresponsible driving!

My dad got knocked out by a motor bike on 10th May 2004 on a lonely road near our house - he fell & hit his head and never recovered. He expired on 13th May 2004 after being on the respirator for 3 days due to multiple brain hemorrhage. And I watched him on the bed lying there and I looked at him after the autopsy (in India we have to go through this in case of accidental deaths) & I shuddered to see death finally!!

I post his photograph here as my tribute to him and dedicate my site to him as he was the one who taught me photo graphy. He belonged to that era when people in India used to colour their photos by painting them.

When I saw him lie there brain dead and me too helpless to help him,
I wish I had hugged him when I had the time.
[click here] I share my thoughts for all those who lost their loved ones.

He himself took this photo of his in his web camera for us to keep in case he died!!

(Incidentally he learnt computers- email, surfing, webcam chatting, word, excel etc at the age of 70, which is a mighty novel thing for India where computers came in much later than advanced countries).

Andamans & Nicobar islands, India

Andamans & Nicobar Islands, India on the Bay Of Bengal. These are quite old photographs so are a bit discoloured. You can see elephants helping in logging.

The Beach with the dead tree is called Wandoor Beach. The other beach is Corbyn's Cove Beach.

MANALI, HIMACHAL PRADESH INDIA

HIMACHAL PRADESH - one of the 27 states of India. Manali is a beautiful hill station. Here are some photos from there. Unfortunately I have only a few which I can share here for now.

PHOTO - 1 PHOTO-2

1. A hilly road. Autumn in Manali, Himachal Pradesh, India. Ohh just to walk on this road with autumn leaves strewn all over hand in hand with someone I love.. The magic of Mighty Himalayas enchanting our souls.

2. The Beas River. After I have walked hand in hand with my love we cuddle ourselves inside the riverside hut. The mountanous river waters gurgling over the boulders. - BEAS RIVER, Manali, Himachal Pradesh, India

3. Snow at Manali

4. Trees in Autumn - Actually it was December.

One of the finest hill stations of India where one just meet nature. Of course this was way back and now I do not know how much it has changed.

HIMACHAL PRADESH, DHARAMSALA

On our way back to New Delhi from Dalhousie we went to Dharamsala high up in the mountains. You will now see a few photos of the Budhhist Monastery at Dharamsala in Himachal Pradesh, India. You can learn more about it by clicking on the links I have provided. From next time I will jot down my own points. Whenever I am posting my old photos here I cannot post details as I have not kept note of the same.

BUDDHIST MONASTERY AT DHARAMSALA

Dharamshala Buddhist Monastery. You can see one prayer drum. There are many such drums around the main hall. Monks walk around roating the drums to pray.

DALHOUSIE-KHAJJIAR ROAD in HIMACHAL PRADESH, INDIA

"Him" Means extreme cold in Hindi and some other local Indian Languages.
"Alay" Means Abode. So HIMALAYA means the ABODE OF EXTREME COLD.
So what about some snow now?

Here we find snow on the road from Dalhousie to Khajjiar. Not so clean as India is full of dust and dirt and mud. So the snow here was mixed with muddy contaminants.

DALHOUSIE & THE VIEWS, INDIA

You read about Dalhousie here. It is in HIMACHAL PRADESH, INDIA.

The Mighty Himalayas span across the North of India at the North from west to east. The beauty is different in different parts of the mountain ranges as there are different ranges in these mountains. Here you see it at DALHOUSIE, HIMACHAL PRADESH, INDIA, in a different splendour.

The photo with Pine trees is at KHAJJIAR, which tourist operators advertise as Switzerland of India. DO NOT BELIEVE THEM. It has nothing but a dirt pond in the midts of the ground which is shown here. Sometimes we need to be honest and not cheat tourists with false promises.

This is another view.

Art Work At AGRA, INDIA

SOME EXPERIMENT WITH FIREWORKS

DEEPAVALI NIGHT. Or Festival of Lights. Here I have tried to experiment with me new camera. My hand has shaken but it seems to be creating some effect. I welcome any comments on whether such shake is acceptable here?

Does Look like Fire-flies right?

NEW DELHI, CAPITAL OF INDIA

New Delhi, the capital of India. Every city in India has its own character (I guess this is true for all cities around the world). I plan to post photoblogs on Delhi and its daily life. Wait for it while I start taking the photos. Till then see these.
